We have been busy decorating the inside of the church, a huge tree, angels on the windowsills, a nativity scene in the vestibule, a smaller tree and some winter scenes in the doorway.
There are decorations in the garden, hanging from the trees and garlands on the gateway
Lots of lights, on from 3.30pm to 11pm. There are some special feature lights; a star, shepherds, wise men, a nativity scene
A star, why? The first Christmas 2,000 years ago was a special gift of love from God to the world. The star was a sign for those who were searching to follow. We don’t have a star to follow now but we do have the story of the first Christmas and what happened afterwards to follow in the bible.
Matthew 2: 2 “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
