Messy Church is a way of being church for families and others. It is Christ-centred, for all ages, based on creativity, hospitality and celebration.
Here at Sprowston Methodist Church we aim to meet 5 or 6 times in the year.
The sessions are usually from 5 – 7pm with crafts, games and a celebration around a theme and close with a shared family meal.
You can expect:
- A warm welcome
- Different hands-on activities with a Bible theme
- A short celebration with a story, songs and prayers
- A meal together
- It’s different each time
It is all free, however children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Please join us for a fun time.

“This is not church for children. It’s church for church. It’s church for everyone… I want to encourage you to never be bound by the way we’ve always done it… it’s a circle of all ages meeting together to engage in who God is in a way that works for them.” Archbishop Justin Welby
At the Messy Church on the 14th of September 2024 families and friends took away tiny Jesus figures and have sent in pictures of his adventures and visits – see below
