This page is still being developed but here are a few outlines.
The work is with two local schools; Cecil Gowing Infant School and Lodge Lane Infant School.
The work with Cecil Gowing Infant School has been happening for about 10 years and with Lodge Lane Infant School for about 3 years.
Currently we do Christmas and Easter activities with year 2 in both schools. Cecil Gowing Infant School is relatively near to the church so the whole year group comes to the church for a whole day of activities. Lodge Lane Infant School is further away from the church so the team of volunteers visit the school for a morning of activities.
The activities include story telling using videos and drama, games and crafts.
A comment following the Cecil Gowing school visit in December 2024 – “My nephew along with his class from Cecil Gowing school spent the day at the church on the 5th December, he had the most wonderful time! I then got the pleasure of joining you all in the afternoon, and it really was the most fantastic afternoon, so I just wanted to share my sincerest gratitude! As a Christian myself, it means so much to me that my nephew is learning all about the Christmas Story. And I thought you done so in such a captivating and informative way. Thank you for your warmth, time and generosity.”
